Brian Rhoades - Quality Manager

Brian attended Southern Illinois University and majored
in Visual Communications. He has always seen prepress
as an interesting blend of art and science. Brian started
at M&D Printing in 1996 as an electronic prepress
operator and designer. It has truly been a challenge to
satisfy the technical demands of printing without losing
the connection to the artistic elements that are just
as much a part of the success or failure of a job.
In 1998, Brian
was promoted to Prepress Department Manager. His goal
in this capacity is to tread lightly on the line between
art and science. He feels strongly that M&D's obligation
is to reproduce as precisely as possible the concepts
of the designer. The technical side, where we use our
expertise and knowledge of an array of cutting-edge equipment
and applications to ensure the exact reproduction of a
designer’s files, is where we earn our stripes.
It is on the
artistic side that Brian takes pride in M&D's ability
to set themselves apart from other printers. The most
satisfying aspect of prepress is when they can truly make
a difference in the outcome of a customer’s project
through their expertise in the craft of printing. To see
a finished job that his department was able to affect
in a positive way through typesetting, scanning or retouching
is Brian's reward as a professional.
